Dawn Launcher Data Migration Guide

Moving to Dawn 3 or upgrading from Dawn 3 Free to Pro? Back up your data in the old edition, then restore it in the new one. Choose your route and follow the steps in order.

01 / MIGRATION ROUTE

Move from Dawn 1 / 2 to Dawn 3

For users who already have categories and items saved in Dawn Launcher 1 or 2.

    Back up in the old edition

    Open Dawn 1 or 2. In the top-right menu, open Backup/Restore Data, create a backup, and save the file.

    Open Dawn 3

    Install or extract Dawn 3 and launch it. Keep the backup file ready for the next step.

    Restore in Dawn 3

    In the top-right menu, select Tools → Data → Restore Data, then choose the backup file from the old edition.

    Check the result

    Make sure your categories and frequently used items appear in Dawn 3 before removing any old files.

02 / MIGRATION ROUTE

Move from Dawn 3 Free to Dawn 3 Pro

Upgrading to Pro also requires exporting your Free edition data and importing it into Pro.

    Export from the Free edition

    Open Dawn 3 Free. In the top-right menu, go to Tools → Data, back up or export your data, and save the file.

    Open Dawn 3 Pro

    Launch Dawn 3 Pro. Do not delete or overwrite the exported backup file.

  3. 03

    Import into Pro

    In the Pro top-right menu, select Tools → Data → Restore Data and choose the file exported from the Free edition.

    Check the result

    Confirm that your categories and items appear in Pro before continuing with its additional features.
